Bands often issue live albums to buy time between studio releases, but while REACH UP AND TOUCH THE SKY was intended as one of these, (between 1980’s LOVE IS A SACRIFICE and 1983’s TRASH IT UP), it remains one of the band’s best releases.Perfectly capturing the energy and excitement of an Asbury Jukes show, this is a consistently fine listen from beginning to end. Individual standouts include «Hearts of Stone,» «The Fever,» «Why Is Love Such a Sacrifice,» and a killer Sam Cooke medley.
